Hi,I'm Chani

I create art because I believe beauty is a pathway to something higher. I see the physical world as full of hidden sparks of holiness, waiting to be elevated. That idea — that the material can be transformed into the spiritual — is a deeply Jewish belief that shapes the way I see life, how I move through the world, and how I paint. Judaism is the foundation of my work — its values, its rhythms, its teachings all guide my creative process. I feel especially connected to Jerusalem, a city I called home for nearly a decade, and its spiritual energy continues to infuse my art with depth, memory, and light.

I’m constantly drawn to the stories people carry — their histories, their longings, their quiet hopes, the emotions that connect us even when unspoken. My art is my way of giving form to those inner worlds, of expressing what so many of us feel but cannot always articulate. I paint to lift those shared human experiences into the light and to remind us that beauty and meaning live in every soul.

My paintings are accented with 24k gold, mother-of-pearl, and genuine diamonds because these materials carry history for me. My father and grandfather worked in the Diamond District on 47th Street; as a child, I used to visit my father’s office and carefully comb the carpets for lost stones, mesmerized by how a tiny fragment could hold so much light. On my mother’s side, my grandfather was a jewelry designer — an artisan — shaping precious materials into objects of beauty. Today, my parents run a jewelry store from their home, curating a blend of one-of-a-kind estate pieces and timeless statement jewelry. Using gold and gemstones in my work honors that legacy while elevating these materials into something spiritual, something that radiates meaning far beyond their physical worth.

When I paint, I’m telling stories — of faith, resilience, longing, and hope. I’m capturing emotions that live deep beneath the surface. I want my work to remind people that beauty is not superficial; it’s a reminder that goodness exists, that G-d’s abundance is all around us, and that there is a Master plan woven into even the difficult moments. Especially in challenging times, beauty can lift us, comfort us, and reconnect us to truth.

In a world where antisemitism has resurfaced and so much can feel loud or unsteady, creating art rooted in Jewish spirit feels like an act of quiet courage — a way of standing proudly in who we are. It’s a gentle kind of resilience, a reminder that truth and goodness endure even when the world feels shaken. I believe this kind of beauty can uplift a home, expand the heart, and draw us back toward what is sacred.

If my art moves you, then we’ve met in that space where the material becomes spiritual — where gold becomes light, emotion becomes story, and beauty becomes something that speaks to the soul. That connection is the reason I paint.
