In this piece, I wanted to capture the pure, unfiltered joy that fills a room when Yidden come together in celebration. These dancing chassidim—linked by movement, music, and spirit— embody that sense of uplift I’m always trying to express in my work. Their steps, their energy, their wholehearted presence all feel like a physical expression of the neshamah reaching upward.

The musicians at the edges of the painting anchor the scene, surrounding the dancers with a rhythm that feels almost visual. Their music becomes part of the composition itself, carried through the layered strokes of purples, lavenders, and whites. These colors reflect my belief in beauty as a pathway to connection—connection to each other, to our heritage, and to Hashem.

As with much of my art, this painting is about the inner light that lives within every Jew. The figures may be moving, but what I really hope comes through is the sense of unity—how our joy becomes shared, how our hearts lift each other. In this circle of celebration, you can almost feel the timelessness of our people: generations dancing, praying, and finding strength in togetherness.

My intention was to create not only a lively scene, but a reminder of how elevating joy can be when it’s rooted in faith, community, and love for Hashem.
